Artist Development
Higher Rhythm are a key player in Musical Artist and Band Development in the region. We were the main delivery partner in first official band development Programme starting in 2005 and facilitated a series of seminars and recording sessions, all of which were provided free of charge to Doncaster musicians.
We have worked with a range of partners in order to provide maximum support and opportunities for Doncaster Musicians, and sponsored live events accross the region to put Doncaster and South Yorkshire on the map as the hotbed of musical innovation and talent it deserves to be known for. Bands such as The Beaus, The Hopper Ward, M101 and Avaan Garde were all part of our original band development programme... which pretty much speaks for itself.
2008 will see the continuation of projects such as DEMO SHOWDOWN and a closer working realtionship with Doncaster Live both on podcasts for artists featured in the magazine and planning for the live event in Summer.
From the 15th to the 22nd of March 2008 Higher Rhythm hosted Doncaster Music Week at venues across the town. This exciting week of seminars and events, made possible by Success Doncaster, was the first such event of its scale in Doncaster and was presented by global music industry pro’s, giving local aspiring musicians and future industry professionals a unique insight into how to get ahead in today’s changing music industry. Many successes are already emerging as a result of Doncaster Music Week and additional events are now delivered under the Doncaster Music Week Extra banner with partners such as the BBC involved.
