BBC Raw Talent Gigs
A proposal we put forward to regional BBC to deliver events and live recording of events for broadcast was accepted in April 2008. This means higher rhythm will be a delivery partner of BBC Raw Talent, and as well as stengthening the network of regional music, this marks a positive development of Doncaster Music Week (DMW) and the DMW 'Extra' events we have been delivering since.
We will be kicking things off in summer in Sheffield (so keep an eye on our events page) and Denzil Watson, the new host of Raw Talent at Radio Sheffield will be doing the compering.
The format proposed is that there is an element of 'gig exchange', so no matter where we hold the gig / recording, at least 1 band will be from another town in order to build the musical network in the region (and the fanbase of that band outside of their home town)
The recordings will be made on a purpose built mobile pro tools system and then mixed, and finally submitted to BBC for regional broadcasts.
