13 Mar 2007: Higher Rhythm's 50 words project goes live
An Awards for All grant has provided over £ 5000 to develop the innovative ‘50 words project’ by Higher Rhythm. This will involve engaging people from minority ethnic groups in Doncaster in producing a series of CDs which will introduce residents of Doncaster to the first basic and most commonly used words of the many new languages in the town, as a way of improving general cultural awareness.
The CDs which will be distributed free of charge through community outlets, are not intended to be a llanguage course, they are just a simple tool allowing Doncaster residents to be able to communicate basic words such as 'hello' and 'thankyou' to help break to down cultural barriers in the community.
