18 Oct 2007: All new concept for battle of the bands from higher rhythm
Higher Rhythm in partnership with Doncaster free press are running an exciting event throughout this year to discover some of the best original music from our town.
If you are in a Doncaster based band, you are invited to submit your demo disks, biog & photos for the Demo Showdown
Every month a winner will be chosen based on music, performance, quality, presentation and artistic vision.
If this is your band, you will receive a photo shoot and full feature in the paper, music business support, access to advice from industry professionals, guaranteed radio features, free high quality web streaming of your music on the Doncaster Today and higher rhythm websites with a total of over 250,000 global hits per month, and possible signing to an exciting new record label… Every band who submit a demo will be listed in the monthly review.
The monthly winners will then go forward to the annual play-offs, and if your band are the overall winner you will get a double page feature in the newspaper, get to play atsome key musical events, receive professional sponsorship and work with a producer / engineer to record a professional collection of your music…
Judging will conducted by panel members with different specialist knowledge to assure bands are judged fairly and on the merits of how well you have sold yourself through your demo. Every type of music is invited, also, if you think that your band ‘push the boundaries’ then we definitely need to hear your music... There is no limit to the number of submissions you can make throughout the year, so the more enterprising you are, the better your chances…
