24 May 2008: Doncaster Music Week Xtra may 2008
The Doncaster Music Week Extra events held on the 24th May saw a range of local music businesses pulling together.
The live event was a partnership promotion between higher rhythm and the priory, but flyers were been sposored by sugarcane studio, PR was handled by Bounce, and as well as the expected input from Circuit Records, Inhaler records are also involved with Goodbye Good, one of their signigs as part of the bill.
In no particular order, the line up was as follows:
OFM, GOODBYE GOOD, JOHN FELL, GAUCHO, THE THREE TORCHES
Almost 200 people attended the event as well as involving around 20 local musicians and aspiring music industry professioanls. The band performances blew the roof off ! An excellent night all round.
On the 23rd of May, Ellie Giles from Polydor records delivered a well attended seminar about A&R at Higher Rhythm.Ellie gace an insight inot A&R from te view of the major companies and inspired the attendees with her story of how a giril from Doncaster ended up working for one of the biggest record comapnies in the world.
