Doncaster Sound Memories

Over the years people visiting us have shared some incredible accounts of encounters with music artists that they’ve had in Doncaster.

Do you have a fun or fascinating story about a musical encounter you’ve had in Doncaster? Let us know! Maybe you’ve had a cup of tea with one of the Beatles… Bumped into Joey Ramone on town fields… Or picked up Kylie in a taxi! These are just some of the stories we’ve heard over the years!

Launching in January 2022, Doncaster Sound Memories, will celebrate these fascinating oral histories through features on Sine FM radio station and via the production of a large-scale public art piece, with lots of opportunities for local people to become involved as either volunteers and story tellers (or both)

So, if you’re from Doncaster, and have a musical story you think we’d love to hear please complete the EOI form below and get involved.

We are delighted to announce that new project, Doncaster Sound Memories has been made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund and will launch in January 2022.

Thanks to National Lottery players, this unique project will capture, preserve and celebrate music memories of local people, based on oral historical accounts from local people about musical events and encounters they have experienced in Doncaster.
