Doncaster Sound Memories

Doncaster sound memories

Over the years people have shared with us some incredible accounts of encounters with music artists that they’ve had in Doncaster. This is where the idea for Doncaster Sound Memories came from…

Do you have a fun or fascinating story about a musical encounter you’ve had in Doncaster?

Let us know! Maybe you’ve had a cup of tea with one of the Beatles… Bumped into Joey Ramone on town fields… Or picked up Kylie in a taxi! These are just some of the stories we’ve heard over the years!

Launched in January 2022, Doncaster Sound Memories, will celebrate YOUR fascinating stories as oral histories, through features on Sine FM radio station and via the production of a large-scale public art piece.

There’s lots of opportunity for local people to get involved either through just telling us your story or coming on board as a project volunteer (or both!)

So, if you’re from Doncaster, and have a musical story you think we’d love to hear please complete the EOI form below.

Doncaster Sound Memories has been made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, this unique project will capture, preserve and celebrate music memories of local people, based on oral historical accounts of musical events and encounters they have experienced in Doncaster.
