Growing Opportunity for Yorkshire’s Music Businesses

Music Industry Yorkshire launched as Yorkshire’s music industry development network in 2010 so we have relaunched MIY for 2021. Music Industry Yorkshire’s support links key industry players, organisations and events to provide comprehensive assistance and signposting for music industry pros and aspiring pros. 

Alongside a Yorkshire wide programme of masterclasses, seminars and industry panel events, MIY has delivered high-profile international events such as the Yorkshire Music stage at South By South West (SxSW) in Texas. We work in partnership with like-minded organisations to develop opportunities for Yorkshire’s Music Business Professionals.

The MIY website has been specifically designed to support the music industry, and focuses solely on the Yorkshire region. As each person registers as a member, the MIY community better reflects and represents the makeup of the whole regional music industry, and continues to evolve dynamically. We’ve also included some useful free support-tools the MIY website. These have been created specifically to support the whole music industry, in all it’s shapes and sizes, whilst focussing just on Yorkshire.

Being a member of MIY is free and provides access to music industry info, resources and exclusive opportunities. Anyone in any music sector (artists included) will benefit from being in our information you. You can achieve this simply by joining MIY.

Registered members who also offer a professional music business service can list this on the MIY website (for free). Anyone who needs a professional music service can browse MIY to find oa professional (without being a member). You can also use the MIY site to search for or post music industry jobs (including apprenticeships and volunteer opportunities), or browse music industry support events in the Yorkshire region.

From DJ’s to didjeridoo players, string quartets to studio engineers, bass players to band managers… MIY isn’t a directory, it’s a community.
